People live and love in different contexts and in different ways. I want to offer a space for this diversity.

Whether your relationships involve polyamory, romantic partnerships, closed or open relationships, marriage, friendships or BDSM, you are all warmly welcome.

I also welcome people whose relationships are shaped by different backgrounds or neurodivergent perspectives.

Three circles move towards and away from one another in an irregular pattern. At the bottom left, the words “Relationship is motion” appear. Every four seconds, “is” changes to “in” and back again.

My approach

Honest feedback, a compassionate approach to mistakes and awareness of power structures in society are central to my work.

Common themes in my work include how to maintain closeness without losing oneself (differentiation-based approach), and the feelings and needs behind conflicts (emotion-focused approach). Patterns shaped by past experiences and their recurrence in relationships can also be a focus (schema therapy approach). My approach is grounded in the here and now and draws on mindfulness and experience-focused methods.

Counselling

In this private practice, I focus exclusively on couples and relationship counselling. I do not offer individual therapy or diagnostic assessments here.

Sessions can easily take place online. I use a video service that complies with German data protection requirements. Sessions can be held in German or English.

The practice is centrally located near Leopoldplatz in Wedding, Berlin. Unfortunately, it is not wheelchair accessible. It is on the second floor and can only be reached via stairs, with no lift.

Fees

My fees cover more than the session itself: my years of professional training, rent, preparation and follow-up for each session, and regular supervision and continuing professional development.

Most counselling involves several sessions. The following options are available:

45 minutes
for two people

€125

90 minutes
for two people

€250

110 minutes
or more than two people

€305

The fees shown are final prices. No VAT is charged under Section 19 of the German Value Added Tax Act (UStG).

Sessions from 6 pm onwards and at weekends carry a 20% surcharge on the stated fee. The final prices are then €150 for 45 minutes, €300 for 90 minutes and €366 for 110 minutes.

Unfortunately, couples counselling is not covered by health insurance. Nevertheless, I want my work to be accessible to people with limited financial means. Subject to availability, I can offer certain online morning appointments at a 20% discount.

Cancellations and reserved appointments

For cancellations less than 24 hours before the appointment, I try to offer the slot to someone else. If this is not possible, I charge a cancellation fee of 50% of the agreed fee. If you do not attend without cancelling, the full fee is charged.

About me

Yes, this is usually where you would find a photo. I have decided against one because I do not want to share photos of myself online. To help you picture me nonetheless, here are a few words about me: people often describe me as calm and clear. I am in my mid-thirties, white, 2 metres tall, with long, slightly curly hair. I regularly wear jewellery and nail polish, and have a short stubble beard.

I am a licensed psychological psychotherapist with specialist training in behavioural therapy, and have almost 10 years of experience in various areas of education and teaching. I regularly deliver training on sexual orientation and gender identity in psychotherapy and counselling, both for psychotherapists in training and for organisations.

After obtaining my licence, I initially worked at a psychotherapy practice in Berlin that treats patients covered by statutory health insurance. Since then, I have worked at studierendenWERK Berlin’s psychological and psychotherapeutic counselling service, offering free individual, group and couples counselling to students in Berlin.

Regular peer consultation, supervision and continuing professional development are an important part of my work.

Education and professional development

Continuous learning is very important to me. I also advocate for continued learning and professional development within the profession.

Here is a brief overview of my core qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in psychology
  • Professional training leading to licensure, specialising in behavioural therapy
  • Master of Advanced Studies in Psychotherapy, specialising in behavioural therapy
  • Couples therapy training with Berit Brockhausen, Sylke Richter, Ream Hadi-Hohn and Siang Be
